The founder, head instructor and General Secretary of the B.T.A. is Master Chris Davies, 6th Dan (Kukkiwon Certified). It was because he felt that Taekwondo for those who simply enjoyed training was being eroded and because of the way in which politics and money was controlling the direction of many Taekwondo instructors, that he decided it was time to have an organisation that was truly democratic and open.  Master Davies and the BTA have been establishing positive links and making great progress ever since

The BTA has been joined by master Ok Yi Park from Korea, Master Park was 2 times state female champion and part of the 1992 Korean Olimpic Demonstra- tion Team in Barcelona.

Master Park is also the BTA Liaison officer between the UK and Masters in Korea.

BTA clubs have also been working closely with Master Ki Young Suh, 7th Dan, who is former Korean National Team, Pan American Olimpic Coach and trainer to the Paraguayan Presidential Guard.
